GMC is kicking up its popular midsize Canyon pickup
by providing a Denali trim option for those who seek premium luxury. Serving as GMC’s top tier trim, the Denali brings signature chrome accents, premium materials and more options to make it the best Canyon yet.
Canyon is the segment’s first and only premium midsize truck, offering unparalleled capability and efficiency matched with maneuverability and refinement,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “The all-new Canyon Denali builds on that award-winning combination with distinctive styling, luxurious interior and elevated content that has defined the Denali nameplate since its introduction nearly 17 years ago.”
It’s worth remembering that the Canyon earned both the 2015 and 2016 Truck of the Year titles from Motortrend following its 2014 redesign, so it makes sense that GMC would want to dig into the lineup and provide the options that Canyon buyers have shown they want.

Denali delivers “professional grade style, luxury and capability” starting with its 20-inch, ultra-bright aluminum wheels with painted accents. The iconic chrome grille is complemented by chrome fog lamp bezels, thick chrome assist steps, heated and power-adjustable chrome mirrors, a polished exhaust tip and standard spray-in bed liner as some of the first indicators of the Denali touches.
Under the hood, you’ll find the new, standard 3.6-liter V-6 engine with Active Fuel Management and 8-speed automatic transmission, making the Canyon Denali capable of trailering a wildly impressive 7,000 pounds and is estimated at 26 mpg on the highway.
Optionally, buyers can select the all-new 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel, which boosts trailering up to 7,700 pounds and is estimated at 31 mpg on the highway. The Duramax is paired with the Hydra-Matic 6L50 6-speed automatic transmission that harnesses a unique Centrifugal Pendulum Vibration Absorber to reduce the noise and vibration pumped out by this powerful offering.
Moving inside, buyers will be able to choose one of six different exterior colors to pair with their Jet Black interior and Mulan leather-appointed, perforated, heated-and-ventilated front seats. The steering wheel is also heated, and drivers will enjoy the soft-touch instrument panel and 8-inch color touchscreen Intellilink infotainment center that puts technology right at their fingertips. The top tier Canyon also features a full-color driver information center, a Bose audio system, automatic climate control, remote start and built-in OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi.ho
